...for garage sales!

Today we (me & the kids) went garage sale-ing with my sister. It was quite fun! We searched out the sales we wanted to hit up and wham-o! we found some good stuff!
My sister taught my kids: "one person's trash is another person's treasure" - pretty cute coming from a 3 & 4 year old :)
I found another set of over-sized silverwear to hang in the kitchen. I think it'll be pretty funny to keep finding oversized spoons, forks, etc. for the kitchen. We'll see how far this goes :)

...for an outing!

Today was a fun day in town with my sister (& the kids, of course). We found some fun little treasures today...here's one:
Yes, a giant fake wooden spoon! $1.80  I also got the giant fake wooden knife that goes with it for $1.80. I found it quite funny that I don't have the fork. Once Trent gets a minute, I'll have him scoot the spoon over and put the knife up next to it. I think it's nice in my kitchen :)
We also saw a very cute table runner and I was inspired, so I bought some springy material and will attempt that at a later date. --As some of you know, I really enjoy crafts so I forsee this blog showcasing some of my crafting adventures. FUN!!!

We had a GREAT day :)

...to clean up a mess!

It's MESSY MONDAY! Or at least it was :-) I'm always trying to think of ways to get motivated about cleaning and/or organizing....so here we go:
On Monday's I am going to find something messy and clean it up!! FUN! Today, I tackled our shoe closet. It's a cupboard at the top of our back entryway. We don't have much space by the back door, so this cupboard provides a good place to store all of our shoes. Having children, with growing feet, a family accumulates quite an obscene amount of shoes. I didn't take a before picture (as I will plan to do) but I do have the after picture. It doesn't look that impressive, but it is :-) ...the doors shut completely! Trent was quite pleased.

TA-DA!

Hopefully this will motivate you to take control of a mess in your house too :-)
Happy cleaning!!!

...to have a Good Friday!

Good Friday - I know what it is, but I wanted to see what the internet had to say. I googled it and read:
Many Christians spend this day in fasting, prayer, repentance, and meditation on the agony and suffering of
   Christ on the cross.

While reading this, the words agony and suffering REALLY stood out to me.

Dictionary.com says:
Agony: Extreme mental and/or physical suffering
Suffering: Experience or be subjected to something bad or unpleasant.

The agony and suffering that I felt I had been experiencing these last two days - due to tremendous lack of sleep, and the inability to sooth my little Jillian- is NOTHING but maybe a speck of dust in comparison to the agony and suffering that Jesus experienced. Scourged, stripped, a crown of thorns twisted on his head, whipped with a reed, mocked, spit on....and the list goes on. All for OUR sins, MY sins!

I do not know agony, nor do I want to experience it. Suffering....maybe I've experience it slightly....but nothing even close to what suffering could really be - that of which I do not want to experience either.
What a gracious Lord we serve!

Today, I am greatful for the trials that God has put in my life. Greatful that He supplied the ultimate sacrifice, His Son - Jesus Christ, so that my life would be spared and my sins would be forgiven. Today I am going to shift my focus from my "agony & sufferings" to the agony & sufferings of Christ - pray & meditate.

Have a GOOD FRIDAY,
Love,
Amanda

...to start a blog!

Yes, today is a very good day to start a blog! Why? Because we aren't doing much of ANYTHING today. Little sleep = little motivation.

Intro: We have 3 kids and I'm a stay-at-home-mommy & wife (to Trent). Molly is 4 1/2, Eli is 3, & Jillian is 7 months....oh and we have a blind cat Haylee - she's about 7, and 2 fish - Batty & Ms. Kitty Bell. It's a busy house, but we LOVE it!
I've decided to start blogging because I thought it might be a fun way to share my every-day experiences....and it's a very modern way of recording life events. (As some of you may know, I'm not at all technologically savvy..so this could be interesting...)

So, today's entry is a bit dull & boring....but it's only 8:41 a.m!

Have a glorious day!

Love in Christ,
Amanda
